If you didn’t manage to make it down in Week 2, we just want to update you on some of the key moments.

  • Tuesday was a great turnout for the Happy Startup School’s Lean Canvas workshop which brought in two new filmakers into the community.
  • Following that was an exceptionally busy Create Brighton meetup by Toby Moore with 3 inspiring talks from Brighton startups.
  • Then on Thursday we got to christen the kitchen dinning experience at The Dream Factory with delicious canapes and a meal courtesy of Charle’s Popup Restaurant with lots of collaboration discussions over dinner.

You can see pics from the week at our Flickr Stream.

Photography & Filmmaking Creative Collaboration Night

Wednesday 18 September, 6-9pm

We are so pleased to be hosting our first creative collaboration event between Dream Factory members, with filmmaker Roy Petersen creating a documentary of Julia Horbaschk‘s Photography Workshop.

The photography event will include some models and have a Sci Fi/ Space age theme which has been inspired by the Dream Factory Vine Street Studio interior and paintings, as well as the mutual love of that theme by both Julia and Roy. Depending on weather, the plan is to then explore and use the surrounding area at nightfall.

There are now limited places left on the 2 night photography workshop, but you can signup here.

Dream Factory members who are not attending the photography workshop are still welcome to come and hangout during what will be a fun and creative evening of mixing our passion with our play! Feel free to bring food and drink to any of our events.

Dream Factory Future Planning Meeting

Thursday 19 September, 5.30 for 6 pm start (Free Drink included)

Discussions with the landlord is still needed, but we would like to see this potentially start using the space for 2 kinds of nights per week/month (ala lean startup)!

  • A weekly lunch/evening collaboration drop in, with members being able to clarify in advance what they need, would like to explore or would like to collaborate on.
  • Additional nights booked as a mid week event space for members to trial and launch new workshops, social events, website & business launches together or as a whole event.
  • Create Brighton would like to continue their monthly meetups in the space too.

After this Thursday meeting, we can then propose ideas at the closing event the following Thursday, where we hope to recruit some more volunteers for the team and establish who would like to continue their membership.

Inside The Dream Factory

You may have noticed last week after the newsletter went out that we added a new menu item called Inside DF, which allows you to see who is in the space whenever we are open. Come down to the space anytime to collect your tag.

Just add http://matrix.thedreamfactory.net to your mobile bookmark if you want to find out quickly who’s in the space while you’re out and about.

Joint Membership for £20

There’s still lots of fun and connection to be had at The Dream Factory but as we are half way through the experience, we are now offering Joint Memberships for £20.

This will allow any new member to be part of the Collaboration Ring, create or be part of a Mastermind Groups and have your say in what you would be interested to see from this space after September. So do spread the word about these benefits.

Dream Factory Directions

You can find us on 13-16 Vine Street, just two streets down from the Lighthouse and Jubillee Library.

The very friendly Coffee Counter cafe is right below us and there with us all day.

Come hangout soon! The door will be open as much as possible, if not just ring the bell.
